Dr. Charles Burrows Re-elected As Director of Orthopedic Service Line at Doylestown Hospital
Two years of achievements in orthopedics pave the way for ambitious future goals
Doylestown, PA – After completing a successful two-year term, Dr. Charles Burrows was recently re-elected as the Director of Orthopedic Service Line for Doylestown Hospital. “I am honored to be re-elected, proud of our success over the past two years, and eager to continue helping Doylestown Hospital lead the way in orthopedic services and patient experiences in the area,” says Burrows.
A physician partner at Bucks County Orthopedic Specialists since 1999, Burrows specializes in joint reconstruction, specifically knee and hip replacement. As the Director of Orthopedic Service Line, he is a member of the hospital’s Medical Executive Committee and supervises all activities in orthopedics. Prior to this position, Burrows was the Medical Director of the hospital’s Orthopedic Institute and oversaw the growth of services and exceptional outcomes, which culminated in Doylestown Hospital’s prestigious distinction as one of “Becker’s Top 100 Orthopedic Hospitals”.
Looking back on the last two years as the Orthopedic Service Line Director, Burrows says, “I’m really proud of the team of orthopedic physicians, clinicians, and professionals at Doylestown Hospital, who are committed to excellence and allowed us to achieve goals such as the growth of same-day joint replacement surgery, decreased ER visits and hospital re-admissions, and the hospital’s Gold Seal Certification in hip and knee replacement with the JCAHO.” With an eye toward the future, Burrows shares, “I would like to see a decrease in narcotics use for patients, a focus on helping our patients proactively prepare for surgery in order to decrease operative and post-operative complications, and a continued push to provide the absolute best quality, low cost orthopedic care for our region.”
Burrows draws on his experiences as both a physician and a community member for over 20 years. Before joining Bucks County Orthopedic Specialists, he received his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine, completing his surgical internship and residency at Temple University Hospital, and his fellowship in Adult Joint Reconstruction at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center and Pennsylvania Hospital.
“Another two-year term as the Director of Orthopedic Service Line is both an honor and an opportunity,” he says. “I look forward to working with our talented team to continue the pursuit of orthopedic excellence at Doylestown Hospital.”
