Doylestown, PA –Bucks County Orthopedic Specialists is proud to welcome orthopedic surgeon Dr. Joshua Steere to the staff. Specializing in joint reconstruction, specifically primary and revision hip and knee replacement, Dr. Steere combines his world-class training with a patient-centered approach to care.
Dr. Steere graduated summa cum laude from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. At Penn, he served as a Chief Resident in his final year and was honored with the DeForest Willard, M.D. Award for excellent service. He completed his fellowship in Adult Joint Reconstruction at Stanford University Hospital in Palo Alto, California.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Dr. Steere to our practice,” says Bucks County Orthopedic Specialists (BCOS) CEO, Randy Gross. “It is a testament to our reputation as a leader in orthopedic care that we are able to attract the best-of-the-best surgeons from the top residency and fellowship programs in the country.”
In addition to joint replacement, Dr. Steere treats a wide variety of hip and knee problems including adult hip dysplasia, osteonecrosis, inflammatory arthritis, infection, and fractures. “The most rewarding outcome is when people tell me their life is no longer limited by joint pain,” says Dr. Steere. “Advancements in orthopedics allow us to challenge the assumption that aging means a loss of mobility and independence.”
Dr. Steere believes exceptional patient care begins with communication. “Well-informed patients are empowered to make personal decisions about their health. I think these patients ultimately do better and heal faster,” he explains. “Fortunately, many orthopedic problems can be alleviated with non-surgical treatments, but these must be specific to each person. If surgery is recommended, people with a clear understanding of what to expect often have less anxiety and an easier recovery. Communication is a powerful tool.”
Collaboration is another tool he is eager to utilize at BCOS. “I am fortunate to have trained with world-renowned mentors at Penn and at Stanford. The doctors at BCOS have trained at prestigious institutions as well, so there is a wealth of knowledge to share,” he says. “In a world where medicine is constantly evolving, this is a great opportunity to collaborate with the exceptional doctors at BCOS to share best practices and improve outcomes for our patients.”
Professional goals and personal experience made Bucks County Orthopedic Specialists a perfect fit for Dr. Steere. “After training at Penn in Philadelphia, I knew BCOS had a stellar reputation. In fact the doctors at BCOS have taken care of my family for years,” he explains. “I think everyone hopes to find a group of partners you would trust to take care of your own family. That’s the culture of excellence at BCOS, and I’m excited and proud to join that mission.”
Dr. Steere supports both Warrington and Doylestown offices of BCOS and is affiliated with Doylestown Hospital.
