The Heal@Home Total Joint Program (H@H) is an innovative and comprehensive program designed to transform the joint replacement surgery experience. Unlike other standard hip or knee replacement approaches, H@H offers a highly personalized and coordinated surgical experience within the intimate environment of a state-of-the-art surgery center. Every step of the surgical experience has been carefully designed and coordinated, including extensive preoperative preparation and education, personalized, multi-modal pain control, advanced surgical techniques, and in-home, accelerated therapy regimens. Patients are able to recover in the comfort of their own home with the support of a visiting nurse and therapist. Best of all, they can also avoid the inconveniences and risks of hospitalization.

At Bucks County Orthopedic Specialists, we are a multispecialty orthopedic and sports medicine practice with 10 practicing board-certified and board-eligible physicians. Dr. Douglas Boylan, M.D.
Dr. Boylan is a Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon who specializes in knee and shoulder surgery and sports medicine. He focuses on the surgical and nonsurgical treatment of knee and shoulder problems and sports-related injuries. Dr. Boylan believes in thorough patient education so patients can make informed choices regarding their medical care. He is also a staff physician at Doylestown Hospital, and appreciate the advantages of a community hospital setting where patients can receive excellent care utilizing the latest technology and advances in a personalized environment.
Dr. Charles Burrows, M.D
Dr. Charles Burrows is a Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon and joint reconstruction specialist, focusing on minimally invasive hip and knee replacement surgery. He has been practicing with Bucks County Orthopedic Specialists since 1999, and in the past 20 years, he has performed thousands of knee and hip replacements. By utilizing all the most recent medical technology, Dr. Burrows is able to perform less invasive procedures with long-lasting results. He is the Director of the Orthopedic Service Line at Doylestown Hospital.
Dr. Kieran Cody, M.D
Dr. Kieran Cody is a Board Certified and Fellowship-trained Orthopedic surgeon specializing in shoulder replacements. The leader in shoulder placements for the greater Central Bucks community, Dr. Cody has pioneered the Same Day Total Shoulder program to enable patients to return home the same day after surgery and recover in the comfort of their own surroundings. His care philosophy is to work closely with his patients to find the optimal treatment options for their unique problems and goals. He is the President of the Medical Staff at Doylestown Hospital.
Dr. Andrew Ritting, M.D.
Dr. Andrew Ritting is a Board Certified and Fellowship-trained Orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand and upper extremity surgery. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, and holds a Certificate of Added Qualification for Surgery of the Hand. His joint replacement expertise is focused on shoulders. Dr. Ritting takes an integrated approach to care that includes preventative medicine, early diagnostics, conservative management, patient education, proactive rehabilitation, and early return to activity.Â
Dr. Joshua Steere, M.D.
Dr. Joshua Steere is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in reconstruction orthopedics. He focuses primarily on hip and knee replacements. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. He provides a patient-centric approach to orthopedic care, and is committed to educating his patients about their diagnosis and treatment options, as patients who are empowered with knowledge often do better and heal faster. Dr. Steere is also affiliated with Doylestown Hospital.
Dr. Thomas Vikoren, M.D.
Dr. Thomas Vikoren is a Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacements, and he is especially interested in rapid recovery protocols. He joined Bucks County Orthopedic Specialists in 2008, and his resume includes diplomas from Dartmouth College and the University of Pittsburgh, as well as an internship at Duke University Medical Center, and a fellowship in Adult Joint Reconstruction from Harvard Medical School. He enjoys the study of orthopedics, because he enjoys how he can help his patients improve their quality of life, out of pain. He is also affiliated with Doylestown Hospital.
