Jonathan T. Hirsch is a National Commission of Certification on Physician Assistants certified Physician Assistant, who specializes in general orthopedics and sports medicine. He is licensed to practice in both Pennsylvania and Delaware and is also certified in Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
He received his undergraduate degree in 1989 from the University of Delaware, and in 1995 he graduated from Hahnemann University's Physician Assistant Program in Philadelphia, PA. Jonathan is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Pennsylvania Society of Physician Assistants, and the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association, as he is also a certified basketball referee.
Jonathan was voted Best Physician Assistant in Bucks and Montgomery counties from 2009-2012 by The Intelligencer.
In addition, Jonathan has been an adjunct faculty member at Arcadia University since 1997 and is a guest lecturer at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. For several years, he was a lecturer and workshop leader for the Pennsylvania Society of Physician Assistants' state conferences. Jonathan was also a contributing author for the JB Review: Physician Assistant Review Guide (Jones & Bartlett Publishers, 2010).
Jonathan became interested in the field of orthopedics through his participation in athletics. He was a multi-sport athlete who played two tours of basketball through South America and Europe with the Harlem Globetrotters touring team (the Washington Generals). Jonathan was initially exposed to the specialty of orthopedics after sustaining an injury, and his interest continued to grow as he worked with Pat Croce, owner of SPORTS Physical Therapy and former owner of the Philadelphia 76ers, at one of his physical therapy centers.
In his spare time, Jonathan enjoys being a Head Coach for multiple sports teams including, soccer, baseball and basketball and has done so for over a decade. Jonathan has also been a volunteer Master of Ceremonies for multiple public events.
